Erato

French label founded in Paris in 1953 and originally owned by . Label Code : LC 0200 / LC 00200 Initially focused on recordings French composers and artists, and Renaissance and Baroque music. In 1972, acquired a minority interest in the label and became the distributor of Erato product in France, while releasing Erato catalog material in the United States on its classical labels, and the Erato label in various other countries. In 1988, no longer satisfied with RCA, Erato concluded a deal with for the marketing and distribution of the label, starting January 1, 1990. subsequently acquired a 20% interest in Erato, before a full transfer agreement was concluded in 1992. After Warner acquired EMI Classics in 2013, many releases that were previously issued on EMI Classics and Virgin Classics, were reissued on the Erato label.
