Producing Uptempo Hardcore
Uptempo hardcore runs from 190 up to 230 BPM, much of it around 200 to 210, with no swing and a party rather than terror feel: kicks stay tuned and long like nu style or frenchcore rather than crushed gabber, tails shortened since a beat lasts 300 ms at 200 BPM. The signature is pierced or rolled kicks, short bursts in sixteenths with rising pitch acting as fills, offbeat kicks playing just the tail for bounce, and kick patterns cut and rearranged every two to four beats like fast video editing. Bass mostly comes from that kick tail, replayed on offbeats or doubled by a separate saturated bass, hard sidechained so it ducks under every hit. On top sit harsh Serum screeches, stacked sawtooth leads, and meme and crowd samples, edited into a bright, compressed sound.
